Sussex-based Bennett Christmas has launched a new website on the back of a re-brand that moves it towards a ‘digital’ future.
The company, created by the merger five years ago of family-run Bennett Dawes and Christmas Insurance firms, said the new site and increasing use of social media would continue to be underpinned by a personal advice service, delivered by people close to the community they served.
Managing Director David Christmas explained: “We’re striving to combine the best of old and new in the insurance industry – a dynamic, digital presence in the market place, backed up by a physical presence, driven by our traditional service values.
“We believe people still prefer to do business with people – they like to shake your hand and see the whites of your eyes – but many of our existing customers and certainly our future ones, will increasingly want to be able to find resources and connect with us online, too.”
The new website showcases a range of services and solutions offered by Bennett Christmas along with a new document centre, that holds an archive of useful facts and information.
There is also an integrated social media feed with live Twitter updates and a blog page providing the latest information and comment on the insurance market.
The Bennett Christmas re-brand takes the firm a step closer to adopting the name BC across its entire portfolio, having already established BC Underwriting, BC Schemes and BC pdqInsurance, which is a limited online sales channel.
“In the wider insurance industry we are known as BC but locally among our customers the name Bennett Christmas still resonates. It sticks in people’s minds, so we want to handle the transition slowly,” said MD David Christmas.
